eappi@quaker.org.uk EAPPI visits as many local churches as possible during each team’s time in Bethlehem. This past Sunday we visited the Beit Jala Lutheran church. It is the largest congregation locally with about 600 parishioners. They gave us a warm welcome in their beautiful church. Ecumenical Accompaniers provide a protective presence, monitor human rights abuses, and support Israeli and Palestinian peace activists.

EAPPI, East Jerusalem. 5.9K likes. EAPPI is a WCC programme that sends Ecumenical Accompaniers to Palestine and Israel to monitor human rights and advocate for a just end to the occupation. He greets us as we approach his home, just before sunrise. His trust and welcome are part of his culture. A stranger will be welcomed and given hospitality for three nights before being asked why they have come. But we are not strangers.

The views contained on this blog are personal to EAPPI volunteers and do not necessarily represent the position of the World Council of Churches. Eappi International Map Over the years, 1,800 ecumenical accompaniers (EAs) have worked to create conditions for a just peace. Today we have 22 active countries responsible for recruiting & training EAs and coordinating advocacy in their own country.
