eappi@quaker.org.uk EAPPI visits as many local churches as possible during each team’s time in Bethlehem. This past Sunday we visited the Beit Jala Lutheran church. It is the largest congregation locally with about 600 parishioners. They gave us a warm welcome in their beautiful church. Ecumenical Accompaniers provide a protective presence, monitor human rights abuses, and support Israeli and Palestinian peace activists.

He greets us as we approach his home, just before sunrise. His trust and welcome are part of his culture. A stranger will be welcomed and given hospitality for three nights before being asked why they have come. But we are not strangers.

Results of WCC-EAPPI evaluation presented At the WCC Executive Committee meeting in China in November 2016, the results were presented for the wide-ranging evaluation of the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI), which was established at the request of church leaders in 2002 to engage in peace-building activities. EAPPI-US is the US based program through which Ecumenical Accompaniers (EAs) from the United States participate in EAPPI. EAPPI-US is supported by US national churches in partnership with Church World Service and welcomes engagement from a wide range of churches, agencies and individuals. EAPPI-US is supported by: Eappi International Map Over the years, 1,800 ecumenical accompaniers (EAs) have worked to create conditions for a just peace. Today we have 22 active countries responsible for recruiting & training EAs and coordinating advocacy in their own country.
